Craftematics is currently in transition from Wix to Google Sites. I've never had to do this before and I made an oops on the timing of domain transfer. This means some things are getting a little weird, especially as I'm not yet able to fix the redirects from google search results. Sorry!
For now, please use the search feature in the top right corner of the page (magnifying glass) to find what you're looking for.
Great question! If you've been around the blog for a while, you may notice things are a bit different now. Due to the severe price increase for service through Wix, I elected to move the entire website over to Google Sites by hand. Some important changes:
Google Sites remains free to use at this time, so I hope I will be able to maintain this website for years to come.
Comments are *currently* unavailable at the bottom of blog posts as Sites does not have this feature built in. They are, however, welcome via email and socials and will hopefully get added to this site later!
The insta-chat feature is no longer available as Sites does not have this feature. Please feel welcome to contact me via email at craftematics@gmail.com. As a bonus, I am hoping this will reduce the insane amount of spam "chats" I receive.
All blog posts now feature accessible content hierarchy, with properly-coded headings, subheadings, etc. Please send me an email if you find a page that is not accessible by screen reader!
Some content is still in the process of being moved over. This also means some navigational pages are not yet done. I am only one woman, sorry! All the most popular posts are ready and you can use the search feature in the top right corner to find the majority of posts which have been copied over.
I'm Kat and I like crafts! I made my first sewing project when I was 6 years old - I traced my hand onto two pieces of fabric, stitched around the outside, and stuffed it as a present for my Dad (giving him a hand, get it?).
After college, I taught myself to crochet and learned how to knit a few years later from a friend - now I craft just about every day and this blog is a way to share my thoughts, reflections, and cool stuff with others.
I used to be a high school teacher for Physics and Physical Science, so math and critical thinking are my jam. I'm not in the classroom anymore, but I'm still an educator and love teaching others what I've learned. In my crafting, the principles of being a lead learner and establishing growth mindset have been key to encouraging myself to keep trying new things and push forward past mistakes.
Glad to have you here!
